Items that you must declare are:
- Foods
- Living or dead plants and/ or parts of them
- Living or dead animals and/ or products of them
- Equipments that have come into contact with animals
- Golf clubs, used bicycles and camping gear
- Biological specimens
- Some items are banned completely and certain items are only allowed to enter New Zealand with written permits. Items that are in this category include reptiles, bird nests, meat, honey and fruit.
